Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to your hotel
Upon arrival in Kathmandu, you’ll be met by your guide and transferred to your hotel for an overnight stay. You can relax and prepare for the upcoming adventure.
Day 02: Kathmandu – Sightseeing and Trek Preparation
After breakfast, spend the day exploring Kathmandu. Visit UNESCO World Heritage Sites like Swayambhunath (Monkey Temple), Pashupatinath Temple, and Boudhanath Stupa. In the evening, prepare for the trek, followed by a welcome dinner.
Day 03: Fly to Nepalgunj
Fly from Kathmandu to Nepalgunj, a city in the Terai region near the Indian border. You will have time to rest and acclimatize in the warm climate.
Day 04: Fly to Juphal and trek to Dunai (2,850m)
Fly to Juphal, the gateway to the Dolpo region. From here, start your trek, following the trail to Dunai, the administrative center of the Dolpo district. The trek offers glimpses of rural life as you pass through terraced fields and small villages.
Day 05: Trek to Chhepka (2,970m)
Trek along the Bheri River, passing through charming villages and lush forests. As you approach Chhepka, the scenery becomes more rugged, and you will begin to see the characteristic landscape of Dolpo.
Day 06: Trek to Rechi (2,940m)
Trek further into the Dolpo region, passing through valleys and dense forests of pine and juniper. The path is peaceful and remote, with occasional glimpses of local settlements.
Day 07: Trek to Phoksundo Lake (3,600m)
The trek continues along the river and takes you up towards Phoksundo Lake. The turquoise waters of the lake, surrounded by towering cliffs, are one of the most stunning highlights of the trek.
Day 08: Rest day at Phoksundo Lake
Spend a day resting and acclimatizing at Phoksundo Lake. You can take a short hike around the lake or visit the nearby Phoksundo Monastery, which offers a serene setting.
Day 09: Trek to the camp site at the northern end of the lake (3,630m)
The trail leads around the lake, offering impressive views of the water and surrounding peaks. You’ll camp at the northern end of the lake.
Day 10: Trek to Low Camp
Continue trekking along the lake, eventually reaching Low Camp, where you will camp for the night. Enjoy views of the dramatic terrain that Dolpo is famous for.
Day 11: Trek to Shey Gompa (4,343m)
The trek takes you through a remote valley and past ancient monasteries to Shey Gompa, a sacred site in the Dolpo region. Shey Gompa, with its stunning surroundings, is one of the most revered places in Dolpo.
Day 12: Rest and explore Shey Gompa
Spend the day exploring the Shey Gompa area. Visit the monastery, interact with the local Bonpo monks, and enjoy the peaceful environment.
Day 13: Trek to Saldang (3,770m)
Continue your trek towards the village of Saldang, a major settlement in the region. Saldang is known for its traditional Tibetan-style houses and beautiful views of the surrounding mountains.
Day 14: Trek to Shimen Gaon (3,885m)
Trek to Shimen Gaon, a small village nestled in the hills. The trail gradually ascends through beautiful valleys and forests.
Day 15: Trek to Tinje Gaon (4,110m)
Move further towards Tinje Gaon, a high-altitude village that is known for its rich cultural heritage and stunning views.
Day 16: Rest day at Tinje
Take a rest day in Tinje to acclimatize. Explore the surrounding area or relax in the village.
Day 17: Trek to Humlum Khola campsite (4,210m)
Trek to Humlum Khola, where you’ll set up camp. The trail takes you through remote areas, and the landscape becomes increasingly rugged.
Day 18: Trek to the Kharka campsite (4,500m)
Ascend to the Kharka campsite, located at a higher altitude. The day’s trek offers breathtaking views of the surrounding valleys and peaks.
Day 19: Trek to Chharka Bhot (4,302m) via the Mola La Pass (5,030m)
Today’s trek takes you over the Mola La Pass, which offers panoramic views of the surrounding peaks. After crossing the pass, descend towards the village of Chharka Bhot.
Day 20: Trek to Nulungsumda Kharka (4,987m)
From Chharka Bhot, continue towards Nulungsumda Kharka. The trek is challenging but offers impressive views of the remote landscape.
Day 21: Trek to Santa (3,777m) via the Niwas La (5,120m)
Trek across the Niwas La Pass, which offers more stunning views of the surrounding mountain ranges. Descend to the village of Santa for the night.
Day 22: Either spend a day in Jomsom or fly back to Pokhara and onto Kathmandu
You have the option to spend a day in Jomsom or take a flight to Pokhara and then return to Kathmandu.
Day 23: Final day in Nepal – Farewell dinner
Spend your last day in Kathmandu exploring more of the city or shopping for souvenirs. In the evening, enjoy a farewell dinner with your trekking team.
Day 24: International departure
After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your international departure. You’ll leave Nepal with unforgettable memories of your Dolpo trek.
