This rarely visited and mystic Limi Valley is like stepping back in time. Due to the isolated location, the villages are virtually untouched by modern development. Century old Buddhist traditions interwoven with shamanistic influences are still an important part of daily life here. The trek follows the ancient salt trading and pilgrimage route to the border of Nepal and China, crossing the Nara La pass (4620 m) with spectacular views of the Himalaya to the east and west while to the north are the Tibetan Plains. Authentic Tibetan culture, with typical Tibetan language, tradition, and lifestyle are prominent cultural aspects seen during this Trek. The villages of Halji and Gombayok are living museums.

The major highlight of Limi Valley Trek involves the ascent up to Gyuo Kharka 5150m, from the top of this pass, there are breath taking views of alpine type environment that include the Himalaya views of Saipal 7031m, Byas Rishi, Api, Kanjirowa, Kanti, Gorakh Himalaya. The views stretch right across and into Tibet including to the sacred peak, of Mt. Kailash, and Gorlamdanda and the Mansarovar Lake.
