Trip Overview

Everest Renjo La and Cho Oyu BC (Base Camp) Trek offers one of the most rewarding yet challenging experiences in the Everest region. This trek combines the thrill of crossing the Renjo La Pass (5360m) with a visit to Cho Oyu Base Camp (8201m), the base of the world’s sixth-highest peak. Along the way, trekkers explore the Upper Gokyo Valley, renowned for offering some of the most breathtaking uninterrupted views of Everest.

The trail initially follows an ancient trading route from Tibet that crosses the Nangpa La, often bustling with yak caravans during trading seasons. The Renjo La Pass, historically called the “Pass of the Snow Leopard,” gained its name from the 1950s Everest reconnaissance team who discovered it following snow leopard tracks. With its mix of historical intrigue, rugged trails, and stunning alpine scenery, this trek is perfect for adventurers seeking a remote and culturally rich Himalayan journey.
