Trip Overview

Everest, the tallest mountain on the planet has a romantic and tragic mountaineering history with the Mallory and Irvine story, the ‘Into Thin Air’ tragedy, Messener’s epic solo and supplementary oxygen free ascent and the ascent of the mighty South West Face being just a few of the legends surrounding this majestic mountain.

The trek to Everest Base Camp is among the most dramatic and picturesque in the Himalaya. The scenery is varied and spectacular, the lodgings and tracks are of a very high standard, and the interaction with the local Sherpa people is truly memorable, and always accompanied by some of the most spectacular Himalayan peaks.

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu
Land in Kathmandu, where you’ll be warmly welcomed and transferred to your hotel. Spend the day resting or exploring the city’s lively streets and ancient temples. In the afternoon, meet your trekking guide for a detailed briefing and finalize any last-minute preparations.

Day 02: Sightseeing and Trek Preparation
Embark on a sightseeing tour of Kathmandu’s UNESCO World Heritage Sites, such as Swayambhunath Stupa and Pashupatinath Temple. Drive to Manthali

Day 03: Fly from Manthali to Lukla (2,743m) and Trek to Phakding
Enjoy a scenic flight to Lukla, the gateway to the Everest region. Begin your trek with a gentle hike through picturesque villages, forests, and rivers, reaching Phakding (2,610m), where you’ll stay the night.

Day 04: Trek to Namche Bazaar (3,440m)
Cross several suspension bridges over the Dudh Koshi River and pass villages along the way. After a steep climb, arrive at Namche Bazaar, the bustling heart of the Khumbu region with panoramic views of Everest and other peaks.

Day 05: Acclimatization Day in Namche Bazaar
Spend the day in Namche to acclimate to the altitude. You can take a short hike to the nearby village of Khumjung or visit the Everest View Hotel for incredible vistas of Everest and Ama Dablam.

Day 06: Trek from Namche Bazaar to Deboche (3,870m)
Trek through pine forests and across rivers, passing the village of Tengboche with its famous monastery. Continue to Deboche, a quieter spot with a stunning view of the surrounding mountains.

Day 07: Deboche to Dingboche (4,410m)
Follow the trail past Mani walls and across the Imja River to reach Dingboche, known for its expansive mountain views and stone-walled fields. You’ll begin to feel the high-altitude atmosphere here.

Day 08: Acclimatization Day in Dingboche
Use this day to adjust to the high altitude. A popular option is to hike up Nagarjun Hill (5,100m), which offers rewarding views of Lhotse, Makalu, and Cho Oyu.

Day 09: Trek from Dingboche to Lobuche (4,910m)
Climb the steep trail to the top of a ridge, with memorials honoring climbers who lost their lives in the Himalayas. Continue on the rocky trail to Lobuche, where you’ll have an up-close view of the Khumbu Glacier.

Day 10: Trek from Lobuche to Gorak Shep (5,140m) and then to Everest Base Camp (5,364m)
Begin with a gradual ascent to Gorak Shep, the last settlement before Everest Base Camp. After lunch, trek along the rugged trail to Base Camp, where you’ll witness awe-inspiring views of Everest and the Khumbu Icefall.

Day 11: Ascend Kala Pattar for Sunrise and Descend to Pheriche
Rise early to summit Kala Pattar (5,545m) for the best sunrise views of Everest and its surrounding peaks. Afterward, descend to Pheriche, a village with a picturesque valley and the Himalayan Rescue Association’s medical post.

Day 12: Trek to Tengboche Monastery
Retrace your steps to the famous Tengboche Monastery, where you can explore the monastery’s spiritual ambiance and panoramic views of the Himalayas.

Day 13: Trek to Monjo                                 
Continue your descent through pine and rhododendron forests, crossing several suspension bridges. You’ll arrive in Monjo, a quieter village near the entrance of Sagarmatha National Park.

Day 14: Trek from Monjo to Lukla
Enjoy your final day of trekking as you walk back to Lukla. Celebrate the successful trek with your team and savor your last night in the Everest region.

Day 15: Fly to Kathmandu
Weather permitting, take a morning flight back to Kathmandu, where you can relax, enjoy the comforts of the city, or explore the local markets for souvenirs.
